The file contains two documents. The time when the debt was incurred is unknown, but the names of the debtors suggest that it occurred during Iakov Ivanovich Bulgakov's stay in Constantinople. This explains why Bulgakov is mentioned as envoy and Minister Plenipotentiary to the Ottoman Porte, even though in 1793 he held the same position in Warsaw.
